• While I think this is an overall excellent plug-in, I’m unfortunately going to have to stop using it completely unless the author resolves a serious problem: the 2FA system he uses stops working for no reason whatsoever, despite the correct code being inputted.

This prevents you from logging in to your admin panel no matter what. The only workaround is uninstalling everything from cpanel.

Everything else about this plugin is great though.

  • I experienced a similar issue on one of my sites. I just logged into my cpanel/ftp and changed the cerber folder name to temporarily deactivate it, logged in to the wp-admin, went back to the cpanel and changed the folder name back and then corrected the lockout within the plugin admin. No problems since…

    Hey Trey!

Thanks for the reply. I tried that before as well. The only problem for me was that, after doing so, the 2FA stopped working completely (when I turned it on). As in, it didn’t even show up when logging in.

So I had to re-install everything to get 2FA to show up. But then, of course, it would prevent me from logging in after a few successful logins.

Regardless, this now appears to be a clear plug-in, as opposed to site-specific issue, which the author should certainly consider fixing as a functional 2FA would make this a superb plug-in.

    Best!

There is nothing to fix in the plugin. 2FA works perfectly on thousands of websites including our own and our clients. Check the Activity tab. Check the server error log. There is something that interferes with the plugin and prevent it from verification 2FA codes. It can possibly be a caching or a cleanup plugin.
