• I haven’t used my WordPress site in a while, so when I visited my Admin page for the first time in years and I saw the Update notice, I just went for it without giving it any further thought or researching anything before I updated, which resulted in multiple errors. I cannot access my web or my Admin page at all, and don’t know what to do. Now that I see the multiple steps I should have taken before uploading I am getting scared that I will not be able to recover my site, can anyone help?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Do you have a backup? Maybe your host has a backup? Perhaps in teh first instance reach out to them.

If you don’t have a backup, it is normally possible to resolve errors if you have access to ftp / control panel.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. Hopefully, this will force the default theme to activate and rule out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
