    Hi there

I’ve added a carousel to my home page which works great on chrome browser (windows and mac), firefox, edge and brave. But it’s not working as expected on the safari browser on a mac, and on any browser on an ipad. In both those cases the behaviour I observe is that the images on the carousel that are visible on page load work fine, but then there are ‘gaps’ where other images don’t load until you hover over them or click.

To replicate on a mac: scroll down to ‘partners and accreditation’. Images up to RECC will load, then there will be a gap to Gas Safe. Hover over that gap to see 3 missing logos appear on the carousel.

I have disabled all plugins and switched to the twenty twenty two wordpress theme and I can still observe this behaviour. I am also running the slider in ‘no conflict’ mode. WordPress, plugins and themes are all bang up to date (at time of writing!)

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Thanks!

May you remind me the WordPress theme you are using? By using Twenty Twenty-Four and the export files you sent me I don’t see the issue: https://youtu.be/JG92RRoPIow

Hi @htmgarcia just 2024 vanilla – I’ve just recreated a new InstaWP site with only metaslider on there and imported the slider here: https://winning-walrus-d80783.instawp.xyz/ and I can replicate. I can add you as a user ?

I’ve added an anchor link so you can go straight to the slider with no mouse movements. Can upload a video of what I see if that helps too?

Hi @htmgarcia just added you as a user so you should be able to log in / reset password from the wp-admin screen https://winning-walrus-d80783.instawp.xyz/wp-admin/. Video of what I am seeing on my mac here: https://we.tl/t-a8MlZxUrZJ (It’s an M1 2020 running Sonoma 14.5 fwiw

Sorry, the video file from WeTransfer is non valid, and can’t get an email to reset password from the test site: “The email could not be sent. Your site may not be correctly configured to send emails.”

Just sent the password through via wetransfer to help at …. The video was a .mov file from Quicktime – I can try and get an mp4 for you – might be tomorrow though

    Got the password. Thanks!

About the video, the problem is not the format. File size was only 4 kb

I think I see the issue now, however I have no luck if I try to reproduce in a local site by using the same slideshow settings and WordPress theme. Likely this is a unique issue in your site according to this test where you can see the result in your site vs my local site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGU96HYdors

@htmgarcia just to clarify – you can see the issue on the InstaWP site on your system? Which would rule out a device issue on my side … I can see it on InstaWP and on my other development site (reseller hosting) and I can replicate on both Mac and iPad.

I can see the issue in https://winning-walrus-d80783.instawp.xyz/ but not in my local site as showcased in the screencast I shared in my previous reply. I wonder if there is something else I’m missing while trying to reproduce in local?

By chance do you have this feature available in your InstaWP account to export your test site so I can install locally and continue debugging?

Yes! I have just sent through a wetransfer link with the zip file …

May you add this custom CSS and confirm it solves the problem? https://gist.github.com/rochdesigns/12663a0d64013e64c7aa88e2ddab1804

Thanks for using MetaSlider. We’re closing this ticket as we haven’t heard from you in over a week. Please follow up if this remains an issue.

    Hi Steve
Sorry for not getting back to you – I’ve been trying to replicate but (without changing anything …) I can’t replicate the issue on any of my devices at the moment now so have been unable to test the code fix. It did seem to introduce some ‘non smooth’ scrolling behaviour. I have genuinely no idea what is happening – but I hope in the next week or 2 to get some wider device testing done so I may reopen at that point if we can replicate

Appreciate the work that’s been done trying to get to the root of the issue
