Thanks for the link! It looks like you’re using a slideshow on the page. However, the background setting you mentioned above is for Jetpack’s Carousel feature. While similar to a slideshow, Carousel is actually a separate feature. You can read more about it here:

As for the slideshow, you can change the background color by adding some new styles to your custom CSS. Something like the following should do the trick:

.entry-content .slideshow-window {
    border: 0 none;
    background: #fff;
}

You wouldn’t happen to have a code to align my blogs would you? I’ve asked at the theme page but its been over a week and not heard anything yet. Its as though there is an invisible sidebar pushing everything to the left. (same link as above) No worries if you can’t help just thought I’d ask on the off chance, thank you again for all your help, much appreciated … ??
