How do I handle Google Search Console Coverage issues showing “cart” and “checkout” as soft 404’s? I have several websites with the same problem.

I have removed cart and checkout from my sitemap, and tried Allowing them in robots.txt, then Disallowing in robots.txt but they still show as soft 404’s.

These are legitimate pages but they don’t show up for Google Search Console unless someone puts something in the cart.

What do I need to do to stop Google Search Console from showing them as soft 404’s?

    Thank you.

@ma3ry All we would be able to recommend in this instance is if you are using a SEO plugin to make sure those pages are set to not be crawled or indexed. This is something that should also be able to be manually done in robots.txt as you mentioned.

Thank you. I was hoping for a way to resolve that wouldn’t result in warnings on Google Search but basically the response was something that I mentioned already that I had done. I was looking for a way not to incur warnings.
