Hi there @wp-tlon ??
1. You put a product in the cart
2. You dont make an order and return to your order later, in the meantime admin changes product status to “not in stock”
3. When you go to checkout page you get cart error “there is a problem with products in your cart. please return to your cart page ….”
At the same time cart page shows no error
Thanks for reaching out. Happy to help you with this!
From what I gather, the purchasing flow is not quite ideally setup at the store yet, and the information appearing in the cart and checkout screens could be further adjusted.
First-up, I recommend enabling stock management, under WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory
.
Subsequently, adjust the inventory settings for products, under the Inventory
tab (as showcased in the screenshot linked here) -most importantly enabling backorders.
The settings mentioned above enabled this kind of notification to the customer (screenshot directly linked here), while the administrator removed the last unit in stock while a customer had it their cart. Earlier on the customer could see this message, upon opening th eproduct page.
I trust that points you in the right direction. Please let us know if you have any further questions about this matter, or if we misinterpret your concern in any way. We will be happy to help you further.
