• I have enable woo commerce to work with my wordpress theme. When I go to the checkout page from my dashboard, I can view the page in ‘edit’ mode (the permalink shows as https://www.zilahayes.com/checkout) but when I go to ‘view page’ it shows me the CART page instead. (https://www.zilahayes.com/cart)

I am trying to find a place to mention delivery times to my customers so I thought I would put it on the checkout page. It shows me that text is there when I view the page in ‘edit mode’ but as I said I can’t actually view the real checkout page cause I keep getting re-directed to the cart page.

I have also gone into my woo commerce — settings — checkout section to make sure that the pages are all assigned properly(i.e. the cart page is pointer to ‘cart’ and the checkout page to ‘checkout’.

I know these are pages that automatically get added when you install the woo commerce plugin. Please help me figure out why I can’t view my checkout page and why it is redirecting to the cart page.

  • Checkout won’t show if the cart is empty. I added a product to the cart and then got to the checkout page OK.

Both cart and checkout are working for me too once I added a product to the cart ??

I have explained thoruoghly and not sure the issue is welcomed within a existing thread, or make new. Please advise

Here’s a thought before you read thru, should I have the site backed up and reinstall the flatsome theme? If so, is this the same process we did when saving the theme in a zip as before recently?

Basically, woocomm has a settings menu but niether page shows up i.e. VIEW CART and CHECKOUT REVIEW ORDER pages.
my “checkout review order” page and the “cart page ” wouldnt show when checking out.

FYI, I had paypal integrations on the phone, to start to integrate the paypal for woocomm, and we noticed these two issues.
    Heres what I do know.

I can see the “CHECKOUT REVIEW ORDER” page in widgets/menu, and added it to the header as a drop down option, It has shortcode on it I assume for the page to work. It still doesn’t show up when clicked.

Also, Should there be a page titled “VIEW CART” with short code on it, to add the same way as a drop down option in header? (there isn’t one)

The cart also does not display as a full view, only displays a drop down when cursor hovered over cart icon in upper right corner of website.

When view cart is clicked, it opens to a page that says oops can’t be found.
I believe it should open up to review the cart in full, shipping etc per the flatsome theme feature on thier site.

FYI, inside the woocomm settings tab, it has a drop down list of 99.9% of my pages listed, to choose & direct the page to be shown when clicked, but the two pages in question do not show in drop down list. Totally missing.

Even after I added the “CHECKOUT REVIEW ORDER” page into the menu and onto the header, it does not show up in the woocomm setting list to choose from to direct the page to open. It’s missing. (If I select one of the pages listed, it does open to the chosen page as directed.)

In summary, I only locate the CHECKOUT page but it doesn’t connect/work.
the two pages do not show in woocomm settings in drop down list to direct the page to open.

Thank you and I look forward to an early resolve of actions to make work.

oops, 2nd sentence of 2nd paragrapgh doesn’t apply in my original post above.

In your list of pages you should have a page called “cart”. Its called cart by default but you can call it something else in your language if you want. This page will have this shortcode on it: [woocommerce_cart]

This page must be set in the drop down at Admin page > WooCommerce > Settings > Checkout > Checkout pages. This drop down tells WooCommerce which is your cart page.

If you don’t see your cart page after buying something, you may need to reset permalinks. Go to Admin page > Settings > Permalinks and click “Save changes” even if there are none.

WooCommerce does all this for you when it installs, but if you have made changes, you need to check as above.

Next, the checkout page and the checkout-order-review page are in fact the same page, not two separate pages. The page has the shortcode [woocommerce_checkout] on it. Whether this page behaves as a checkout page or as an order review page depends upon the endpoint on the url. This endpoint is also set on the Settings > Checkout page.

You can’t get to the checkout and order-review pages unless you buy something. So the sequence is: cart > checkout > order-review.

Its likely that your problems are due to incorrect settings, so it may not be necessary to reinstall your theme just yet.
