Cart shows $1.00 at all times

I am using the free version. We have only 4 products, the least costly is$1,995.00. The cart always shows the product in the cart at $1.00 and this $1.00 figure is transferred to the PayPal system.
We have the correct price in all of the sample codes.
I have deleted and reinstalled the plug-in; the problem remains.
