catagories …huh? MIA

What do I need to do to make them show up?

Dang Dang Dang!!!

I made a title and a sentence per several posts.
Instead of bringing up the catagory name in the catgory box, it does that but also inserts the page with the sentence above my main welcome text, pushing it lower and lower down the page.

I’d like to see the catagory name/subject in the catagory box, but only have the text show up after someone clicks on the subject name.
anyideas?
BTW, sorry if this as all covered someplace, I can’t seem to find a good q and a for it, the help is very much appreciated. cheers Rog

This is a blog program…not forums. The newest post will always be on top. If you want a welcome page, you need to create an html homepage for your site that is linked to the wp-index.php either directly or perhaps via a meta forwarder. The index.html page should always display before the index.php page without any action on your part as long as they’re side by side in your root directory.

how do you sort categories in order?

You can indeed configure W-P to display a static page, your forums, actually just about anything you’ve published as a front page. I just discovered that this morning.

It’s easy to access. Just go into your Admin CP (Dashboard) and click on:
Manage/Settings/Reading => Front page displays
