• I did a fresh upgrade to 2.0 today, and found a theme I like, but it’s not showing my catagories. I thought it was the theme, so I switched to some other default ones, and the same thing happens. Just shows one catagory. I’m only using Brian’s Threaded Comments, and Post Levels plug-ins.

Is this something broken in 2.0 that I need to fix?

thanks, but that was there. checked to make sure the value wasn’t one that’s set to just show one catagory also. I have no idea what was wrong. I went back to 1.5.2 and all is well now. Runs a hell of a lot faster too.

    yeah..missed 1.5.2 so much

Ahh, I have the same problem, though I’m new to word press. The Posting system doesn’t have the options for my catagories (2.01), and for some reason the Writing Options doesn’t even have the option to switch to “Advanced Mode” though, I’m not sure if that would fix it anyways.

How/where can I get a copy of 1.5.2? I found the post on wordpress.com, but it just linked to the current download site, which links to 2.01…

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

The full colleciton of old versions can be found here:

BUT be aware that there are known, published security flaws in all versions prior to 2.0.2.

@WindsorScanner – was this a new installation, or an upgrade of an existing blog? Just checking – there were posts in the categories that weren’t showing in your sidebar? Any change if you disable the plugins? And you did disable them before upgrading?

@joesiv – there isn’t an “advanced mode” in 2.x, as all options are (or should be) available in the normal editing screen. You should have some resizable boxes to the righr of the title and editing boxes.

Ahh! Thanks LesBessant! You’re right, my catagories are right there! Perfect, now I can get posting.

By fiddling around yesterday I found that I could drag those boxes on the right, but I didn’t realize you could click them to expand them.

Hint to people: Click the right side of the boxes that are found on the right side. It’s a bit finicky, but it works if you know how to do it. Funny, but I didn’t find this in the documentation.

But thanks LesBessant for the tip.
