Catagory list looks awful in IE!

I am working on making this theme fit my needs for a webproject I am working on which can be found here:
https://scmi.us/index.phpIn FireFox the layout looks tight; the catagories list is very compact and I like it that way. When I look at the catagories in IE the size between the links is doubled!
I have been poking around the layout.css and am totally lost. Can anyone help? The css is here:
