I would like to use Awesome Support with the E-mail Support add-on so that any emails sent directly to that email will be retrieved to create a ticket. I do not want to create a new user account for tickets coming from unknown email addresses. I understand that I can select the option to have such incoming emails added to the Unassigned folder. However, in order to move them out of that folder, I will still need to assign them to a user. Would it work for me to create a catch-all user named “Guest User” and move these tickets to that user? They would not be able to log in and see their tickets, of course, but I don’t need them to be able to do that. If we can just email back and forth within their ticket, that would be fine. Does this scheme make sense? Would doing this cause any problems?

  • Hi @sahmcolorado

Yes, you can achieve this using mailbox rules. Please check the following page for the details

If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you. I’ve read through everything on that page several times and I don’t know how I would use mailbox rules to accomplish what I need to do. I want to create a ticket for unknown email addresses without creating a new account for each new email address. Is there a way to make a rule that assigns a ticket to a specific user if the email address is not found in the system?

    Hi, @sahmcolorado

No this is not possible with the current features. I will check with the team. If you are interested, please contact me here

OK, but if I create a user just for these emails, I could manually move any incoming messages from the “Unassigned” folder to this guest user? I’m wondering if this would cause any problems that I’m not thinking of.

    Hi @sahmcolorado,

if you assign an unassigned email to the “guest” account, the email address of the sender will be changed to the guest account email address. If you need access for a demo, you can fill in the form below so that I can assist you properly:

Ok, creating a user account for each email address that sends a query is not a workable solution for me, so I won’t be able to use your plugn. Thanks for the help!
