"Catchable fatal error" when user clicks activation link

    A user has reported the following error when attempting to click on the activation link she received from WordPress after filling out the registration form:

    Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home/fmthost/public_html/memberswjc/wp-content/plugins/bp-registration-options/includes/core.php on line 229

    Any idea what might be causing this and how to fix it?

    I am running WordPress 3.5.1, BuddyPress 1.6.4, and BP-Registration-Options 4.0.1 (from GitHub).

    Unable to find any usage of WP_Error other than a single check of is_wp_error() regarding the IP data fetching.
