can you please fix categories for your plugin, when I add a plugin base slug is adcat, not the base slug which I set in your settings page.

    Hi

Categories’ slug is different from the ads’ slug. In settings you can modify ads slug, not categories slug. Well, i will provide a way to change the categories slug in future.

first off, the base slug should be included in the single ad post anyway. second, the adcat should be editable when you make a category and or be replaced by base slug.

“base slug / category / single post” in permalink. obviously.

    Hi

Technically speaking, in WordPress you cant have 1 slug for two different types of OBJECTS i.e. post type and Taxonomies as you cant have same track for a bus and a train. However, we can make Taxonomies(categories) slug editable.

You want adcat to be the base slug for categories and single, archvive ads pages ?

    Thread Starter coolnan500

    (@coolnan500)

“adcat” is already base slug for categories.

    adcat/category-name/

the idea is to make base-slug in your settings to replace “ad-cat”

I will give an option in next plugin update to modify Categories slug too, so you would edit ads and categories slug. if you are in hurry, you can find it in included/class-applyonlie.php file on line 288.

Also you are taking common settings permalink structure, I added blog to it for my blog pages, it has blog in permalink for this custom post type.

    Hi,

    1. If you want a different SLUG for categories, you need to change it in this file: includes/class-applyonlie.php on line 288.
    2. After that you should save permalinks in your admin from SETTINGS/PERMALINK menu.
    3. Please do not use same slug for more than one objects. Only one of them will work, other will stop working.
    4. If this is not your requirement, you need to tell me again what you actually want.

Looking forward to hear from you ??

    Farhan.

i did change adcat in custom post type on line 288. You told me to click save on permalinks page. I went back to category page for this plugin and it did not work. Got a 404.
