    Can someone please help me understand the category structure.

    Example:

    I have a parent category “wheels” with nothing in it, but subcategories with hundreds of wheels and the parent will not show. Do all of the products have to be linked to both the parent and subcategory for the “category” to show on the shop page?

    Wheels <—parent and will not show
    -18″ <—subcategory with hundreds of product options
    -19″
    -20″

    With WooCommerce by default there are a few options available in Appearance >> Customize >> WooCommerce >> Product Catalog:

    If you choose “Show categories” – the products will not be displayed on the shop page.

    You could try using Show categories and products, andShow subcategories and productsunderCategory display` – that way even products that are not in the parent category will show up.
