• Please be patient with me because I am really lost when it comes to PHP…

I recently started my blog here: https://www.zombieescapeplan.com/
which is set up to use a static page as the front page and then the actual blog pages will show up under categories and also archives.

The problem is with the template I chose — when you click on Categories or Archives it shows a LIST of posts instead of the actual posts.

Is there an easy way to change that? I have been searching the forums but it’s just making me more confused and I can’t find any posts about my exact problem.

    Thanks!

Well, I decided to change it so that my most recent posts — instead of a static page — shows up as the front page. So that SORT OF takes care of the problem. (The problem being that the recent posts weren’t visible enough the way I had it before.)

But I’d still rather have the posts themselves instead of lists of them show up when I click on “categories” or “archives”…

    Anybody?

Hi, CR – my coop is using a theme called “Suhweet” (sp? it may have more e’s in it?) to accomplish something pretty similar, it sounds like. What this does is it has a special category called “featured”, and the newest entry in that one shows up as the top entry… then come all the others, by date in whatever category… so as long as you don’t overuse “featured” you have a fairly static “top” for the home page.

Oh, and they also changed the name of the “Blogroll” to “Links” and sh!tcanned the blog links and put in links to other (non-WP) pages on their website. Seems to work pretty good.

    to the OP:
Probably, your archive.php template file doesn’t have the template tag for the_content.
    See: Template_Tags/the_content
