Categories and custom menus missing

Have you tried resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Thanks for your reply, Esmi. Just tried the method via FTP but it hasn’t worked. Any ideas?

Do you have any recent database backups? Does your host?

My host has restored a backup already from 17 March. no joy. My client said they added some posts under categories yesterday (19 March) and there was no problem

Have you tried setting these newer posts back to draft again?

I’ve had a similar issue in the past where no media files where showing. I seem to remember I had to repair the database in phpmyadmin.

You could try it but I would have thought that the database restore would have fixed any table issues.

Tried setting the posts to draft and repairing db table. Still no joy

Try checking the site’s error logs for any relevant error messages.
