    Hello,

I recently set up a blog on a friend’s website.
    https://www.alteacostablanca.com/news/

I used the Fastrack theme and modified the appearance of the template slightly.

When I click on the category links or some of the other links e.g:

    Villa Rental, Costa Blanca (5)
    Activities (2)

    September 2006 (6)

    The following error page occurs:

    The webpage cannot be found
    HTTP 404
    Most likely causes:
There might be a typing error in the address.
If you clicked on a link, it may be out of date.

    What you can try:
    Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

Go to alteacostablanca.com and look for the information you want.

    More information

I have used the Fastrack Template on a couple of other sites, and modified the template, and it works perfectly.

I am sure the answer is staring me in the face, but I can;t find it!

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Dave

  • If you go to Options -> Permalinks and set permalinks to default, what happens?

There’s a lot of troubleshooting info on the Permalinks codex page you may wish to look over. In particular, confirm with the web host that mod_rewrite and AllowOverride are on and properly enabled.

    HandySolo,

“If you go to Options -> Permalinks and set permalinks to default, what happens?”

Instant success! – The links all worked as soon as I set permalinks to default.

I had wondered if permalinks might have something to do with the problem. I had tried something different with this blog, but even when I simplified it down to my usual:

    /%post_id%/%postname%/

    It still did not work!

    Thanks!
    Dave
