Just a thought but I’m thinking this may be a permalink setting related issue.

Go to Settings / Permalink / Custom Structure and if not there copy
/%category%/%postname%/ and save..

NOTE: Doing this sort of thing after search engines have indexed the site typically requires URL redirection in google console to include such changes.
