Categories disappear from filter

  • Suddenly my map lost 3 categories from the filter. I can’t recall changing anything regarding categories when it happened. The 3 categories that got lost were two child and one parent. The 2 categories that remain in the map are neither child nor parent.

    To clarify: All locations remain in the map, but categories disappear from the filter.

    Hello… sorry for the late reply, I got sick this week.

    When the change happened, you mentioned you weren’t changing anything regarding categories. Was there anything else you were editing? This might be related to a couple of things I suspect, but maybe some of the locations maybe don’t have a coordinate entered or something is bad with the data, causing a cascading effect.

    Thanks. You put me on the right track. I have found a workaround.
    What happened was that I changed the status of one location from published to pending. This was the only location in the parent category, and this disabled the filter for both the parent and child categories. Not sure how logical it is that a parent category needs to have a location to show in the filters? I was assuming that it would suffice to have locations only in the children categories. Thanks for all your work and brilliant youtube videos!
