I have a parent category “rebate” and I would like to see a dropdown with sub-categories dislayed.

Actually, I’m using the shortcode [wpsl category=”rebate”] but there’s no categories dropdown with that shortcode.

I can’t use [wpsl] because there’s some other parent categories I don’t want to see on that page.

Also, there’s no difference between parent and sub-categories in the dropdown. You should add space or any other characters to distinguish the sub-categories from the parent.

This shortcode [wpsl category=”rebate”] will only restrict the search results to the set category, it will not render a dropdown.

There is currently no way to show a dropdown with only the sub categories, unless you are willing to modify the code yourself, but it’s a good idea to add support for it in the future.

You are right about the sub categories not having spaces, that shouldn’t happen. I will change that in the next update.
