Categories effecting custom type archive

Hi,
I am using the AVH Extended Categories Widgets along with a custom post type archive in my sidebar. I’m having an issue where when I click on a category link and I’m taken to the category page the archive plugin is being effected. Rather than displaying any archive posts of my ‘articles’ custom post type, as I have set it, it displays all custom post types.You can test it here: https://climatelondon.org.uk/blog/
Does anyone know why this is happening?
