    Hi all,

I wanted to ask if there is plugin that sort the categories in A – Z nicely in a page. Because AZindex does not do so. It only sort posts title correctly in A – Z order. But if you use Categories, it will show the categories name E.g Music. It show the categories music in the M list 10 times if you have 10 posts in the categories.

The plugin i want to ask is that are there a plugin that sort the categories in A – Z without displaying it’s child or post?

A site with this example is https://www.anilinkz.com/anime-list/.

    Regards.

You could exclude categories…or use the exclude child categories option.

Have you looked at all the options when ‘creating’ an index page?

    Note:
By WordPress standards, ANY category that has been designated a Parent category is not meant to be checked in the category hierarchy when writing posts. Meaning, only the latest generation category should be checked. Think of it like this, only the youngest generation gets the action.

It’s okay to have multiple categories assigned a post, as long as the other categories are not designated as parents.

MichaelH — there isn’t really a way to do what Arc Ice wants with AZIndex, it only provides indexes of posts. Perhaps in future I will take a look at turning the plugin into a more ubiquitous indexing plugin, but that’s not what I’m working on at the moment.

Okay thanks English Mike – I misread what Arc Ice asked. Nice plugin by the way.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your understanding. So i assume there is currently no plugin that’s able to do that right?

If so maybe i will start on a plugin that does it with reference from AZindex.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Regards.
