categories not excluded are being excluded

    hi,

    is there any way to create an exception for certain categories on certain posts?

    i’m using the plugin to run my “site news” posts. most of those will only appear on the “site news” tab listed at the top. therefore i do not wish those posts to be double, so the plugin is great for that.

    the problem is, that’s not always the case. for example, my most recent post, goes under the category “site news” and “snails”. this time i do wish it to appear in both places, on the site news AND on the posts on the site. https://snailhunters.com/snail-hunting-season-2022-has-started-news/

    the only workaround i could find was creating a separate post for the “snails” category. but then i end up with two posts which isn’t the most desirable either.

    No there isn’t a way to create an exception to do what you’ve described.

    ok thank you. i guess having two separate posts for the few posts that will be in two different categories is the only option for now then.

    i have one other question related to this post. i got a ping back from it? i’m not sure why or what i should do about a ping back? my site is asking me to moderate it. i’ve never gotten one before. i know nothing about ping backs.

    i also couldn’t access my site shortly after getting the ping back. i got an “error establishing database connection” message. i don’t know if it was related or not. but it resolved itself.

    My plugin doesn’t do anything related to pingbacks.

    but could the fact that i posted the link to my site on this forum have caused a ping back? i don’t even know what a ping back is or how it works.

    Possible as that is a feature of WordPress that I believe is on by default. But you’re asking a question about the www.ads-software.com forum which isn’t my site and I have no insight into how it’s set up.

    ok thanks. i only asked here because the ping back came from this post as you can see in my screnshot above. the excerpt shows the text from this specific post.
