Categories on staging

Hi, I am considering using your template to replace the Striking template on my site. Everything is good except the theme will not save postgrid category selections. I am using Gutenberg, and I have tried multiple grids from different Gutenberg plug-ins but none of them will save the category selection to limit the query on the grid. Is this just a staging issue? Is that feature not really enabled on the free version? I don’t want to pay for the upgrade and then to have it work on my blog-heavy site. I look forward to your thoughts
