Categories on the Blog Page

  • Hi Ben,
    I have an idea that has been in my mind for a long time and which I think is a great feature for this theme. Of course, I do not know if this is possible.

    My opinion is this: The featured categories of the blog page. For example, category sections with configurable posts after the most recent posts or slider.

    Thus, the home page will become more useful. However, it would be more useful if it was made from the Customizer instead of creating a separate page like other themes.

    I made a demo for better you understanding.

    Please excuse the crudity of this demo. I didn’t have time to build it to scale or paint it.

    As an extra, clicking on the category titles can go to the category’s page. There may be ad space between categories.

    Maybe you can advise me to use the sidebar to highlight this feature. But it will also be a great feature for those who don’t use sidebar for this theme like me.

    This theme has great potential. It is one of the best WordPress themes. Also (over and over) many thanks for that.

    In a simpler way, categorizing the blog page or creating a set of categories.
    I mentioned clicking on the category title. It may also have a “more” link instead.

    Sorry I missed this. I’m not sure why some of your posts aren’t sending me email notifications.

    I think this is a cool idea. There are quite a few ways to approach this, but it could be done via a page template, Customizer options, and/or widgets. Since this is a larger feature, it will take me some time before I can get to it, but I have included it in the roadmap for a future release of Mission News or Mission News Pro.

    Thank you so much. This feature will make not only journalists happy, but also bloggers like me. Because its home page will be more organized.

    Maybe adding it to “Home page settings” in the customizer will make it more organized. I don’t know how possible.
