• Is there a way to make the categories page display wiki pages in a different way? As it is right now, the categories display pages the same way as blogs in the front page.

Is it possible to have a smallar display and maybe divided in three columns? Is there a feature that allows these pages to be sorted in alphabetical order, newest to oldest and maybe even according to categories. Is there such as plug in?

    Hi matta087,

The way the category page displays is handled by the theme. I see you are using Hestia. If you go into the Customizer and look at the Blog Settings you can see the layouts it offers. It looks like the Pro version has a masonry or grid option, but that would probably still be the same for posts (home page) as other categories.

Traditionally people would create a PHP template to customize the output. These days people use premium page builders. There may be a plugin that does this, but I tried a couple and didn’t find one that worked well.

I see, that makes sense David. Thank you!

A side question for you David.

Is it possible to set all new users (Subscriber group) to have edit ability in the Wiki (Edit ability only, not new wiki pages)? Then make it so that the changes go through admin approval first. I think this is a really nice feature to encourage all to contribute but also have a layer of security.

Hi matta087, By default Yada Wiki uses the same permissions as Posts. There are plugins that allow you to customize those option. There is an article in the documentation about that:

    https://www.webtng.com/allowing-site-members-create-wiki-content/

I tried a plugin that worked fine as described in that article. Since then I’ve seen a couple of other plugins that do similar things. I haven’t looked to see if the newer ones are better. Before doing something like that I’d be sure to have a good backup system in place and personally, I’d test it out first on a development site to get the settings correct. You might also want to use a good security plugin, if you don’t already have one.
