    Hi kanno1,

Categories don’t need to appear on your blog – they don’t on our demo blog (https://wpdemo.getmecooking.com/) which uses the Twenty Eleven theme.

In your WordPress Dashboard, go to:

    – Appearance
    – Widgets

If ‘Categories’ is specified in there (on the right hand side of the screen), drag it to the ‘Inactive Widgets’ section at the bottom of the page.

This is standard WordPress functionality, so is not set by the GetMeCooking plugin.

    Thanks.

    Paul

It is only when I activate the GetMeCooking plugin that the categories I am using show up on the top row navigation bar. I have tried everything I can think of to get rid of them (deactivating plugins, removing widgets, deactivating different things in my theme). I really want to use this plug in! Any more suggestions?

Please can you try using one of the WordPress default themes and see if it still appears?
