categories, static pages?

Not sure how to describe and have search with no results.

If I have a site at loismustdie.com and wordpress is located in the /wp/ directory. I want to show “news” and “music” , which are a couple of my categories in wordpress, in my index .php or another one of my pages. How do I do this in 2.0?

There used to be a plugin for 1.5 called kittys categories? whihc did this
