Categories Visible or not….

Hi

I am trying to have a menu (categories) in my side pane… I would have for instance have “Edible” being parent to “Vegetables” and “Fruit” subcategories. Then for Instance “Pineapple” and “Strawberry” as children to “fruit”….

Then I want another Category called “Prepared how” being parent to “Fried” and “Grilled”.

Now what i want to achieve is that when one Clicks “Edible” it expands with “vegetables” and “fruit” and then when clicked on “fruit” it expands to “strawberries” and “pineapples”. Also, it must work as a sort of search function in the sense that it only shows posts relating to all the categories and sub categories… basically works like a filter… if “Grilled” is also selected with “strawberries” then it should filter to posts that only include grilling and strawberries… so it must kind of be an AND statement and not an OR statement if that makes sense…. can someone help?!? THANKS!!
