• Hi!

I’m using the Post Templates by Category Plugin. It allows me to have a template per category-post. That’s ok.

But I’m having an issue. When I post something in TWO categories, the permalink (/%category%) shows the category in crescent order (if I post in id #1 ans #8, the permalink shows thr #1). But, the template uses a decrescent order (shows the #8 category template).

So, I got a URL saying that the post is from a category, and the template saying that it’s another.

I’d like to make the template to follow the same crescent rule. Is there a way? Thank you!

  • First: “crescent” — I do not know your intended meaning of the word here.

In any case, it would be difficult to modify the plugin to work with posts in multiple categories. With a post in two categories and templates set up for both those categories, what should the plugin use to decide which one is the expected one?

Sorry about the misunderstanding. Bu crescent, I mean, like, 1,2,3,4… Decrescent, 4,3,2,1… ??

The plugin should decide the same WordPress decides when it chooses the category in the permalink. So, if the permalink gets the #1 category name, the plugin should get the #1 category template… Not the other one.

Also, is there a way to not to show subcategories in the permalink?

    Thanks.
