Yes, I’m planning to add in a tag like that in a new version soon. If you have more than one category for an event it would be separated by commas.

I’m just adding version 2.2 now, once it appears in a few minutes you should be able to update and then use:

{categories}

to display the categories (separated by commas) or:

{category_links}

to include links to each category!
