Hi, for posts (events) for The Events Calendar plugin, I created a MemberOnly category and restricted it to logged-in Members and admins. I also checked the box to hide the MemberOnly category events from searches and archive pages. When I am logged out, the events with MemberOnly category show in all calendar views, archive and single. The only sign that they are restricted is that the short text description for the event is replaced with my “content restricted” message. Title, date, location, map, phone number, organizer, all other info is visible. This is a big problem for us since it exposes so much personal information to the general public.
Similar for regular blog posts, but for them I restricted access to some of my normal blog post categories rather than creating a master MemberOnly category. It works better than the events restrictions. The restricted posts don’t show in the posts archive, but when I select a non-restricted post to view singly, then use the Next and Previous nav buttons, all the restricted posts are shown, but only their title, meta below the title, and tags. The main body content is replaced with the access-restricted message.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Clarification: In both cases, I set the access restriction in the UM settings > Access tab AND in the Categories control panels.
I hope there is a fix or workaround, or something else I’m missing. Thanks.

Problem is related to new templates in The Events Calendar with version 5. If I switch back to the older version user interface, access restrictions appear to work as intended. For now I can leave it this way as we won’t go live for another month or so.
Of course it would be great if UM could update for the new plugin version, since this is a very popular calendar plugin. ;^)

    Hi @kengholm

    Sorry for the late response.

Thanks for letting us know how you track the issue. If this works with the previous version of Event Calendar, it means the issue with their new changes. Have you contacted them regarding this issue? If so, what’s their response?

Feel free to re-open this thread by changing the topic status to “Not Resolved” so we can get back to you.

    Regards,
