Category and Sub Category Solutions

  • I am new to wordpress but I have general knowledge of it. I am developing a website using WordPress. My Requirement is Like Below:

    On the Top Menu I have a main category and under it I added sub category now what I want to do is I want to display featured image and description from the particular sub category selecting from first post of related sub category.

    If I couldn’t explain it more clearly, Here I am adding a link to the site that I am developing.

    In Production Section there are list of sub categories with image and description so now I want to have that from the first post with that sub category.

    Can please someone help me on this ?

    I cannot understand from your description or the website what you are after.

    In Production Section there are list of sub categories with image and description so now I want to have that from the first post with that sub category.

    It looks like you are using a template page for production?

    Paste the code for that page to https://pastebin.com and post the link in a reply.

    Then describe with more detail what you are trying to do, create a simple drawing or datamap so people might be able to help.

    Something like this would help
    [Category Production 5 posts and navigation]
    –[Post Title]
    –[Post Content]
    -[Sub Category 5 posts no navigation]
    —[Post Title and Thumbnail]
    -[Sub Category 5 posts no navigation]

    Hi David,

    Thanks for your intrest. That was done before when I was just beginner for wordpress. And what i did at time is I just added pages and I solved out the page layout with HTML view with my custom CSS. But now I realized this was not a solution actually.

    Let me explain you more:

    What I want show is I have created a category called –> Productions
    In this category it holds a list of productions with Poster thumbnail and short description different from its inside page.
    And after going to inside of sub category it holds a poster thumbnail, gallery and People Head shots, Name and Bio which I supposed to be post inside sub category.

    What I did is Created a Category –> Production –> The great Banquet –> Posts

    I dont know is its still not clear but if you could get into the link and click on Production section that will give you an idea what I am trying to do ?

    I would be very grateful if you could help me on this.
