• Hi,
I’m writing a digital camera blog and I’ve run into some problems regarding parent categories and subcategories.

I have three main categories: By manufacturer, Reviews and News.

The categories ‘By manufacturer’ and ‘Reviews’ are parent categories and both have the manufacturers’ names as subcategories, e.g. Sony, Nikon, etc.

The category ‘By manufacturer’ is supposed to contain general information about a certain camera model, categorized by manufacturer.
The category ‘Reviews’ contains links to external reviews, again categorized by manufacturer.

The problem: when you click on a manufacturer subcategory in either of the two parent categories, ALL post from the specific manufacturer are shown for BOTH categories.
This means, if a user clicks on the ‘Nikon’ subcategories in the main category ‘By manufacturer’ ALL the posts filed under ‘Reviews – Nikon’ are being displayed as well.
    The links look like this:
    https://thevital.net/digitalcamera/category/by-manufacturer/nikon/
    https://thevital.net/digitalcamera/category/reviews/nikon/

What’s the best way to solve this problem?

    Thank you for your help.

    Steve
