Thank you for the great plugin! I enabled the “Category and Tag Caps” option, but I can’t find where I can set which users have access to assign specific categories (so for example, if I have category “X”, I want to limit the ability to assign it to a post to certain users).

I read this page, but I’m not finding the “Taxonomies” tab that is mentioned at the bottom? Is this a Pro-only feature?

    Hi Daniel,

Members allows you to create new roles with any array capabilities with the Category and Tag Caps add-on, which is now free and included in Members core. This add-on includes limiting which users can assign categories and tags. Specifically, you assign the assign_categories and/or assign_post_tags to the user role(s) you want to permit to add those taxonomies, or deny those capabilities for user you don’t.

However, it sounds like you want to limit which users can assign specific categories to posts. Currently, Members doesn’t support restrictions at the individual category level. This article may provide some help with how you can accomplish it: https://make.www.ads-software.com/core/2016/10/28/fine-grained-capabilities-for-taxonomy-terms-in-4-7/
