Category and Tag permalinks not adding to breadcrumb

Hello the category base url doesn not add itself to the breadcrumb
for example
https://www.domain.com/category/pictures/postname/
will breadcrumb as https://www.domain.com > pictures > postname
which means category pages do not breadcrumb correctly and you can end up with duplicate pages for example
https://www.domain.com/pictures (home > pictures)
and
https://www.domain.com/category/pictures (home > pictures)is there a fix?
