    Hello,

I am quite confused by category/category(not used for mapping), and “is equal to”/contains, and I think it does not work properly When using them in “Feed filters and rules”, or maybe I misunderstood.

    Issues:

Both “category” and “category(not used for mapping)” do not work properly when generate google review feeds, please check the screenshot for an example: https://prnt.sc/1tu4kgp. Products in that category are not included in feed output.

But “category(not used for mapping)” works properly in “Feed filters and rules” when creating google product feeds, please check the screenshot for example: https://prnt.sc/1tu5n6v

    So, questions please:

1# What is the difference between category/category(not used for mapping) please?
2# what is the difference between “is equal to” and “contains? in this screenshot at https://prnt.sc/1tu5n6v, it seems that “category” works for filter, but “category(not used for mapping)” works for rule, is that right?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

    With regards to your questions:

    • The “category (not used for mapping)” attribute contains your raw WooCommerce categories a product is in. Bear in mind that when a product sits in multiple categories all of those categories are added in this value. The “category” attribute will contain the Google Product Category ID when you have mapped your categories to Google’s category taxonomy
    • This might have to do with the fact your products sit in multiple categories. Make sure to replace ‘is equal to’ with ‘contains’ in your filter. It might solve the issue at hand.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for reply.

So, “category (not used for mapping)” and “contain” should be used for filters and rules to include or exclude a specific woocommerce category please?

    Looking forward to your confirmation.

–> that depends, when your products sit in multiple categories than indeed you need to use contains, when your products sit in just one category each than both contains and is equal to will work.
