    More on this:
I have created the custom type with a plugin, More Types, as well as manually…
The problem with displaying categories comes down to the ‘hierarchical’ parameter.
Setting hierarchical => true causes the category terms to disappear, setting it to false causes them to re-appear.

Is there any way to have the taxonomy terms appear in the columns on the edit.php page while having the post type be set to hierarchical?
Is there something else I’m missing?

Apparently this is the way it is right now, you have to create custom columns even for built-in taxonomies.
However, despite the wealth of information on how to do this, in both documentation and in the forums, I’m having trouble with this and have started a new post for it here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/list-custom-taxonomies-in-custom-columns?replies=1#post-1823858
