Category description

Sorry guys to be a pain.

Under Admin, Manage, you can add a New Category and put a Description. However, this description does not show up for the user to see and that is what I want. I would like a description under each category for the user to see on the home page.

In my search I found this

but not sure if that is the right reference for what I want to do. It seems to be talking about displaying the category description on a page while i’m talking about displaying the description of the category on the blogs home page where the categories are listed — did that make sense?

If for some reason the above link is the reference I want, I’m still confused on where to place the code.

Sorry, for being such a rookie. I’m trying to learn as much as I can but I do run into brick walls. Mostly because I don’t understand the post to be sure it is what I want.
