Category Dropdown

  • Is there a way of getting rid of the dropdown menu’s for categories?

    Ajax is cool and everything but I think this goes a bit overboard.

    Practically every post you make is going to be in a different category. Having to hit that dropdown + sign everytime is annoying.

    The prominence and ease of access in current WordPress for categories is way better in my book.

  • I disagree; I think the new Ajax way is really usable.

    Well, this is one of those polarized things probably. Give it a bit, someone will come up with a way to tweak core code so those (like moi) who haven’t any use for cutesy ajax stuff can get rid of it on a case by case basis….

    Scratch the comment I just made. If you leave the Categories drop down menu open and then login – logout.

    When you log back in to make a post, the drop down menu is still down.

    Thats really cool.

    that’s why ajax is so cool.

    That’s actually basic javascript/HTTP/cookie’ing, but ok ;).
