Category Featured Text

Trying to figure out the best way to do this.

Need to have on the top of each category some static text that will contain a picture. Basically something explaining the category and giving a description.

If it didn’t contain a picture I could easily add it in category description then call that in the template. But since I need a pic I can’t.

Next option I thought of was to use a sticky. But that sticky would need to show full post and the rest of the posts I would want excerpt only. This should be possible by showing full post on category template but adding th more tag to each post that isnt a sticky. That “should” work but havent tried yet.

But there should be an easier way to have static text on the top of the category template where I can show text/pictures without hard coding it in the template.

Any ideas or plugins that you have seen that can do this?
