Hi there, I have a question about the Category ID:

This is not well thought out. For Example, if you delete listing of Category ID 2 it will start on ID 3. This issue is, it is part of the URL and after amending / updating the categories, it goes into crazy numbers – unless you go in the back end and flush out the plugin data – as long as you DELETE ALL and start again with no more amendments or mistakes.

Any idea how I can actually amend them in the dashboard?

    Many thanks

  • Hi @kristianngve,

Sorry that you ran into issues here!

I’m not sure I follow what you’re having problems with. What are you doing with categories? What do your URLs look like right now? Can you walk me through exactly what you’re doing in the AWPCP dashboard?

Do you have SEO Friendly URLs enabled for AWPCP, where the IDs are removed? That is a setting under Classifieds->Settings->General tab.

    Please let me know.

Yes, the Turn on Search Engine Friendly URLs

so instead of it looking like: page_id=1172&category_id=61%2Factivities-events

    It looks like: classifieds/browse-listing/8/product-name-here

That 8 is the Category ID. and it’s that what I want to be able to change to keep everything in order.

    RESOLVED

I started with the MAIN categories first which will be my core links.

Then updates later down the line can be more flexible (as I did the subs last).

    Many thanks!
