Category in Navigation

  • I added 2 categories to my navigation (under portfolio), but nothing shows up on these pages. I have added posts to both the ‘portraits’ and ‘paintings’ categories. I tried it with the Twenty twelve theme and it didn’t show up there either.

    Am I doing something wrong?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    Yes, I deactivated all plugins and it didn’t solve the problem. And, yes, I did switch to twenty eleven (not twelve!) and that didn’t work either…is there something special I need to do to get this to work?

    What’s interesting is that on the category ‘page’, a dotted line appeared once I added more than one post to that category. Currently they are 2 in both category…

    So it seems like it’s registering something, but not the content of the post.

    As an added note, I’m using the post image and thumbnails box on the post to hold the image and I put a description in the content box.

    Can we see the site using the Twenty Eleven theme with all plugins deactivated?

    Sure…done, but the categories don’t show up on the menu now…since I set them up as a drop down.

    What could be preventing my theme from showing this? I’m using Thesis.

    I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, that’s a question you need to ask of the theme’s vendors.

    Thanks…using the WordPress nav, not the thesis one, so I couldn’t find any documentation.

    Documentation on what?
