I recently installed WordPress 2.1.3 using Fantastico.

Strangely, the home page is displaying a list of categories at the top above the header. This is only happening on the home page, not the single posts, pages, categories, etc. It doesn’t matter which theme…default theme does the same thing.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

Wondering if anyone has had a similar problem?

Whathappens if you switch to another theme, like default or classic? Is the category link still there?
If not – it means it’s a “feature” in your theme, probably, to create some kind of navigation.

If you don’t want it, you may try editing the header.php file of your theme and remove the code (template tag). Most likely it is one of these:

The same thing happens with the default and classic themes.

This problem is only happening on the home page. Individual post, archives, etc. are not affected.

    Thanks.

Got it! I went through and disabled all plug-ins and the error was resolved. Then I figured out which plug-in was causing the issue.
