category list on post page borked

No, I’m sorry, I wasn’t clear at all. My fault.
The presentation of my categories on my blog (specifically, it’s https://www.hauntedpalace.net/library that’s misbehaving) is fine. What’s out of order is the scrolling list of categories from which to choose on my Post page, within wp-admin-land. ??
Make sense, or have I dug a deeper verbal hole for myself? ??

On a related note, how can I get the list on the Post page to NOT be a scrolling list. How about a regular list so I can see all the categories at once?

What do I tweak and where is it?
