Category Menu Buttons Not Showing Up

do your cat links normally show up in your nav automatically? I’m used to having to add them through a custom menu. Apperance/menus.
from there you can add categories as nav links.

That’s actually where I’m trying to add the menus…in the Apperance/Menus section. All the other menus show up file, just nothing when I create a category menu.

I’ve even gone so far as to do an end-around. I take the direct link to a category, for example, “videos”:

stoopidvegas.com/category/videos/

Then I create a custom link menu that links to that location and it doesn’t show up either.

This may be beyond my knowledge, but I assume you created the categories the usual way, and that your theme has a way to display categories (archive.php, category.php)

otherwise you may try diabling all plugins or try another theme just to narrow down the possible causes..

In the area under:

Appearance>Menus

I did not select the Primary Menu on the upper, left-hand side. So under my theme options it was going to the default, set to Pages. Now that I selected the menu I created under the drop-down, it fixed the problem.
