Category navigation not working past the first page of links

  • Awhile ago I changed my permalink structure to /%category%/%postname%/ from the default. Now when you go to “Categories” in the menu & pick a Category like “Weddings” it will pull up the three most recent posts in that caregory but when you click on “Older Entries” you get a 404 error message that reads:
    Not Found

    Apologies, but we were unable to find what you were looking for. Perhaps searching will help.

    Is there any way to fix the error with out returning to the old permalink structure? I don’t want to ruin all my out-going links.

  • Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and deleting/renaming your WordPress .htaccess file. If this works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.
