    Hi

I have just started out planning on some posts but for a start, I won’t not have any category attached to the posts. So, it is a better idea to set to “No” under Allow search engines to show this Category in search results? But eventually once I have 2 categories, then switch to “yes”?

    Pls advise.

    Kym

  • Hi Kym,

There isn’t a problem in doing this. Keep in mind that setting that option to “No” puts a NOINDEX on the categories, so when it is time to turn it back to “Yes”, ensure those categories are being linked to.

    Hi Robteee

You said “ensure those categories are being linked to,” are you referring to posts linking to the categories?

    Pardon my basic questions.

    Thanks
    Kym

    Hi,

Yes. When you select YES to permit Google to index the categories be sure that you have assigned posts the right categories. See for an example: https://pasteboard.co/IjZuADf.jpg
