    Hello,

    I use woocommerce and wpml, last version for each.

    I had a preprod server with no problem, then I put my website on the good one and see a new problem with translation of slug. On category page, the slug is not translate in french part. I’ve check permalink, ok, and check string translation of slug, ok too. So what I need to do ?

  • Hello, I would like more details in order to understand the issue.
    Let me just suggest something.
    When you have migrated the site – the permalinks may have been broken somehow.
    So first, I would suggest you to go to Setting > Permalinks and re-save the permalinks first.
    Then perhaps it would be good that if you delete the slug that is not working in the String Translation, and re-translate it.
    As additional suggestion, I would recommend that you disable any caching mechanisms that you might have – especially but not limited to object cache.

    This however are shots in the dark, and I would need more details in order to be of more help.
    I would suggest to you that if these suggestions not work for you, to open a new ticket in WPML support forums where we can help you more fast and more adequately.

    Thanks for you answer.

    I’ve already resave permalinks without success. Same for remove translation and retranslate.

    Don’t hesitate to ask me about more informations you need.

    I’ve also one more problem in production environment, website is very very slow… we had same serveur configuration in preproduction and it was really better.
    As I can see WPML is the problem for performance but why it’s slower in production ?

    So, I’ve removed all wpml data table and add the preproduction table and now it’s ok, maybe it was corrupt ?

    I would recommend you to open a ticket in WPML.org support forum, so that we can investigate the performance issue with your site.
    This kind of issues are usually very hard to debug and will definitely require for the supporter to reproduce your site and test.
    Please also be sure that if you use caching plugin like W3 Total Cache, that you are not using Disk cache or advanced disk cache anywhere.

    @andrew I saw quite a lot of links posted though.

    @zeeraza Can you please clarify about the issue?
    W3 Total Cache is not a problem in general, however using a disk or disk enhanced method for cache is not very wise. I am sure that if you make a general web search for best practices, you will see that using both of these methods can lead to even bigger slow-down.
